Challenge
In addition to designing, cooking is one of my main hobbies. What's special about cooking is I get to physically make something and take a break from the screen. Because of how affordable and therapeutic it is, I cook almost everything I eat. However, something I haven't been consistent at is learning new recipes. Online recipes involve too much scrolling. Additionally, cookbooks take up a lot of space in my tiny New York City kitchen. It's also a hassle flipping through many pages. Although I enjoy cooking, learning new recipes can be daunting.
Solution
The "Create" deck contains quick, easy recipes with minimal ingredients. With each meal packed into a 2.5 x 3.5 inch card, recipe cards are convenient in terms of time and physical space. With "Create", I have the opportunity to create and eat something that's rewarding and delicious.
Logo and creative
To communicate cooking as fun and approachable, a bold font is used in "create" with "eat" emphasized. Additionally, warm and bright colors were used along with playful graphics such as sparkles and organic shapes. A checkered pattern alluding to an old-fashioned kitchen floor helps elevate approachability through nostalgia.
